5 Things to Do in Ventura County This Weekend: September 25-27, 2026

If you’re looking for an excuse to get out of the house this weekend, Ventura County has five very different options waiting for you.

The September 25-27 lineup includes one of Ventura’s biggest free art events, a waterfront festival at the Port of Hueneme, an expo devoted to the strange and unusual, live reggae at a local brewery and a family celebration honoring Camarillo’s namesake.

ArtWalk Ventura

When: Saturday, September 26, 10:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.; Sunday, September 27, 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.
Where: Downtown Ventura and Ventura’s Westside
Admission: Free

More than 300 artists, dozens of venues and two performance stages come together for ArtWalk Ventura. Visitors can explore galleries and pop-up displays, watch street painting and pottery demonstrations, hear live music and poetry, attend CineFest screenings and find activities for children. Gold Coast Transit is also offering free bus service during the festival.

Port Hueneme Banana Festival

When: Saturday, September 26, 10:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
Where: Port of Hueneme, 105 E. Port Hueneme Road
Admission: Free

The Banana Festival combines live bands, local food, shopping, family activities and banana-themed treats with a rare chance to look behind the scenes at Southern California’s only deep-water commercial port. It is an easy all-day family option with a distinctly Port Hueneme setting.

5th Annual Seaside Oddities Expo

When: Saturday-Sunday, September 26-27, noon-8:00 p.m. both days
Where: Ventura County Fairgrounds, 10 W. Harbor Boulevard, Ventura
Tickets: $10 presale; $20 weekend pricing. Children 10 and younger enter free with a paid adult.

More than 150 vendors bring unusual artwork, antiques, taxidermy, vintage Halloween décor, curiosities and other unexpected finds to the fairgrounds. The weekend also includes hourly sideshow performances, special guests, themed photo opportunities, live tattooing and a costume contest Sunday afternoon. Advance tickets use timed arrival windows.

Morie & The Heavy Hitters

When: Friday, September 25, 5:00-9:00 p.m.; live music is listed approximately 6:00-9:00 p.m.
Where: Leashless Brewing, 585 E. Thompson Boulevard, Ventura
Admission: Free

Start the weekend with Morie & The Heavy Hitters, plus live reggae, organic beer, seltzers and food. It is a casual Friday-night option close to Downtown Ventura and the beach.

Adolfo and Isabel Camarillo Birthday Celebration

When: Sunday, September 27, noon-4:00 p.m.
Where: Camarillo Ranch, 201 Camarillo Ranch Road
Admission: Free; mansion tours are $5 cash from 1:00-3:00 p.m., with children 12 and younger free.

This annual celebration honors Adolfo and Isabel Camarillo with the famous Camarillo White Horses, mariachi and folklórico performances, children’s activities, birthday cake while supplies last and food trucks. Visitors can also tour the restored 1892 Queen Anne Victorian mansion.

This is one of those Ventura County weekends where you can build completely different plans depending on your mood. ArtWalk and the Banana Festival are strong free family choices, the Oddities Expo delivers something you will not see every weekend, and the Friday music and Sunday ranch celebration give you two relaxed local options.
