Wisecracks: A Night of Comedy

Thursday, September 17 at 7:00 p.m.
Bombay Bar & Grill, 143 S. California Street, Ventura

Start the weekend with a laugh in Downtown Ventura. Wisecracks brings five comedians to Bombay Bar & Grill for an intimate Thursday-night show. Tickets are $20, plus applicable fees, and the organizer describes availability as extremely limited.

End of Summer Hawaiian Party

Friday, September 18 from 5:00 to 10:00 p.m.
Ventura Moose Lodge, 10269 Telephone Road, Ventura

The Ventura Moose Lodge is closing out summer with a Hawaiian party that's open to the public. The evening includes a $15 Hawaiian dinner, live music by DNA from 6:00 to 10:00 p.m., a raffle drawing and tropical attire. Guests wearing Hawaiian gear can also receive a drink discount.

Fall by the Sea

Saturday, September 19 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Portside Ventura Harbor, 1196 Portside Drive, Ventura

Fall by the Sea combines local shopping with Ventura Harbor views. Market by the Sea is bringing local artisans and vendors to Portside for a day that also includes food, live music and giveaways. It's an easy option for anyone who wants a relaxed Saturday by the water while supporting small businesses.

7th Annual Chowderfest

Saturday, September 19 from noon to 4:00 p.m.
Channel Islands Maritime Museum, 3900 Bluefin Circle, Oxnard

Chowderfest returns to Channel Islands Harbor with tastings from local restaurants, live music by Kelly's Lot & Friends, museum tours, beer and wine, and complimentary harbor-cruise boarding passes while space lasts. Guests can vote for their favorite chowder and try the new sea lion imitation barking contest.

Online tickets are $45 and include entry at noon. Gate tickets are $55 with 1:00 p.m. entry, if any remain. The museum says tickets are selling fast.

Boots & Brews Country Music Festival

Sunday, September 20 from 2:00 to 8:30 p.m.
Plaza Park, Downtown Ventura

Boots & Brews is the weekend's biggest music event. Bailey Zimmerman headlines the outdoor festival, with Rodney Atkins, Frankie Ballard and Jayden Secor also performing. Expect a full afternoon and evening of country music, food, drinks and a large festival crowd in the heart of Downtown Ventura.
